TDIC tenders at Saadiyat Island marina district

Contractors invited to prequalify for main contract utlilities works

Abu Dhabi's Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) has invited contractors to prequalify for to undertake the main contract works for the Marina District Deep Utilities Project at Saadiyat Island.

The project includes the construction of sanitary sewer and stormwater trunk lines, an irrigation transmission line, a sewerage pumping station, forcemain and a number of plot connections to these networks. The work must be carried out in accordance with all local authority requirements, including obtaining all necessary permits and approvals.

Saadiyat Island is one of TDIC's flagship developments, a natural island located 500 metres off the coast of Abu Dhabi. It will eventually be home to an estimated 145,000 residents with a full complement of leisure and tourism facilities, as well as civic and cultural institutions.

The Marina District will cater for both international tourists and residents. Its cosmopolitan, self-contained community will have a range of leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as berthing for more than 1000 vessels. Saadiyat Marina is located on the island’s southwestern coast. The deadline for prequalification submittals is 7 September 2014.
