UAE-based development company AAA Appraisers will invite bids in July for the construction of its US $200 million (AED734.6 million) Eclipse Tower in Jumeirah Village.

The commercial tower will be located off Al Khail road at the entrance to Jumeirah Village.

It will have a gross built up area of 32,516m² with retail space of 5,109m².

Construction on the tower is expected to begin in September with completion expected in the last quarter of 2010.

Speaking to Construction Week, Hussam Hariri, projects manager for AAA Group, said: "We will tender in July but it will be selective. It will be a complete package for all works including the foundations and the main construction.

"We're not going to award those packages separately. The one, main contractor will be in charge of it all.

He said the company has four contractors in mind that would be invited to tender but declined to name them.

The tower will also include a nine-hole Sky Golf Course as an integrated part of the high rise development.

Yousef Yaqoub, general manager of AAA Appraisers, said: "This is a record of sorts as Dubai has never experienced a Sky Golf Course.

Located on the podium of the building, four levels above the ground, the course will feature bunkers, water hazards, as well as a pioneering water management system which maintains the golf course with minimal wastage of water.

"Most towers have facilities like a gym and sauna, which, in reality, are never used.

"The golf course will enable the residents of the building to conduct business while playing golf as well as having informal business lunches while walking the greens," he added.
