Aecom appointed as lead consultant on Akoya Oxygen
Firm expects to award contract for 1,000-home phase one in seven weeks
Damac has appointed Aecom as the lead consultant on its Akoya Oxygen project in Dubailand.
Akoya Oxygen sits on a 500 hectare site and will contain an 18-hole golf course by designed by Donald Trump's Trump International brand, a five-star hotel and homes for 50,000 residents.
Aecom's work will involve masterplanning, infrastructure design and traffic and environmental impacts. It will also involve the design of the first 1,000 villas that will form phase one.
Bryan Avison, project director at Aecom, said: “This is truly a fast-track project; the first tender package will be awarded to a contractor within seven weeks and construction of the first 1,000 villas will commence within six months. It is a challenging program, even for Dubai standards. Because of this, Damac came to Aecom.”

We have been looking for the best technical partner who is able to realise our development vision within such a challenging development schedule."
