Video: Red Bull F1 car takes Yas Mall tour

Preparation for November opening heading into last lap

Aldar Properties has shifted up a gear in preparation for the November opening of Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.

Entering the final lap, Aldar invited F1 World Champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing to stage a spectacular stunt, whereby international racing driver Carlos Sainz Jr. cruised past some of Yas Island’s most iconic destinations, as he journeyed his way across the island towards Yas Mall, for a one-of-a-kind breath-taking experience.

The car zoomed around the new fashion avenue, accelerating through the super mall’s wide corridors and taking a spin through one of the centre’s many vast and open spaces.

Talal Al Dhiyebi, executive director of Asset Management at Aldar Properties, said: “As part of the wider Yas Mall launch campaign, we were thrilled to partner with the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team for this impressive stunt. The mall is a destination for unique and innovative experiences, and this event perfectly embodies those values."

The Yas Mall launch campaign is now in full swing, as retailer fit outs continue at an accelerated pace with 95% of outlets committed in terms of leasing ahead of the November opening.

Yas Mall will become the first super-regional mall in Abu Dhabi, offering a total leasable area of almost 2.5mn ft2. The mall will offer visitors a world-class shopping and entertainment experience with more than 370 stores under one roof, including: Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Chalhoub Department Store, VOX Cinemas, Lego and, Geant; as well as The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs, Angelina and Paul Café, House of Fraser, Mango, Zara, Ted Baker and Adidas.
