Groundwork has reportedly begun on Royal Estates by Shah Rukh Khan, the 100mn ft2 master development in Dubai Industrial Park launched by the Bollywood superstar last month.

“A great day today. We laid the foundation stone for #royalestates by #ShahRukhKhan in Dubai,” Tony Ashai, the architect behind the project, said as he tweeted a photo of work beginning at the construction site.

The Royal Estates development is a joint venture between Aristocrat Real Estate Development, PAL Development and Pacific Ventures and designed by Ashai and SRK’s wife Gauri Khan, will include 400 townhouses and apartments.

The first units at the project are set to be delivered within two years.
