Technovaa breaks ground on $68m Abu Dhabi factory

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has announced that Technovaa Packaging Industries Ltd., the industrial arm of Darvesh and one of the leading paper products/plastic film producers in the regional packaging industry, has broken ground at Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

The ground breaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of Technovaa Packaging Industries Ltd. new manufacturing facility which will be set up with an initial investment of AED250mn ($68mn) and occupy a land size of more than 35,000m2 in Kizad’s KP4.

Kizad’s comprehensive intermodal transportation network and close proximity to Khalifa Port with market access to more than 4.5 billion potential customers and business partners worldwide will not only offer Technovaa Packaging Industries Ltd. enhanced supply chain efficiencies but guarantee smooth, time and cost effective import and export activities,” said Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO, ADPC, and chairman, Board of Directors, Kizad.

Darvesh chairman Hassan Suleman Darvesh added: “Our new branch location provides unprecedented market access, especially through Khalifa Port, which will enable us to expand our export capacity. Our plan is to export 60% of our overall production volume from Kizad to European, Middle East & African markets and cater to the local demand.

Furthermore, Kizad’s highly competitive operating cost environment will provide us with an excellent business platform to further improve our full range of services, competitive pricing strategies, as well as our production and marketing capabilities.”

Technovaa Industries’ new manufacturing facility in Kizad will further support their other branches in Dubai and Ras Al Khor.
