Bahrain hospital project secures $18.2mn financing
KCB Islamic Bank to fund construction of Al Salam Specialist Hospital
Plans to build a new specialist hospital in Bahrain look set to go ahead following the project’s securing of $18.2mn (BHD 7mn) of financing.
Al Salam Specialist Hospital project, which will be built at Riffa, has agreed a deal with Khaleeji Commercial Bank to fund the project.
The signing of the agreement took place at Orthocare Centre in the presence of Khaleeji Commercial Bank CEO Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer, the bank’s corporate banking team, and hospital shareholders Dr Jamal Saleh and Dr Abdul Majeed Al Awadhi.
“The opportunity to finance the construction of Al Salam Specialist Hospital gives us immense pleasure as the medical sector is the noblest of sectors in a nation, and to be a part of this honourable venture shows our commitment towards Bahrain,” said Al Meer.
Dr Saleh said that KHCB was the preferred choice when it came to financing the construction of the hospital due to its long and distinguished history of funding other projects in the country.
He highlighted the bank’s involvement in a number of significant deals with other private sector establishments which have contributed to the economy of Bahrain.
Al Salam Specialist Hospital aims to set the high global standards and become one of the premier hospitals in the regional, Dr Saleh added.
