Saudi Arabia launches $64mn Hail hospital project

Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Health Affairs Mansour Al-Hawasi has announced the launch of a $64mn (SAR240mn) project to provide an additional 500 beds at Hail Specialist Hospital, Arab News has reported.

During the announcement, the minister highlighted the current level of government investment in Hail’s health infrastructure. He pointed to ongoing projects at Hail’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital where an extra 200 beds are being provided, a 300-bed project at Hail General Hospital, a 200-bed development at Hail Mental Health Hospital and Oncology Centre, another 200 beds being provided at South of Hail Hospital, and a further 500 beds at King Khalid Hospital.

Al-Hawasi said that all these projects will be implemented within two years.

After the completion of the projects, the number of beds per 1,000 persons in Hail will increase from 1.8 beds to 4, he added.
