Six tourism projects are due to be launched with the support of Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), according to the Qatar Development Bank (QDB).

It is in the final phase of awarding and, with these projects, the country would see the launch of a total of 25 tourism projects during the first quarter of 2015, it was reported in Al Sharq.

QDB’s strategy is in line with the bank's strategy to promote the growth of private sector and support the government economic diversification, said Abdul Aziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, CEO, QDB.

The six projects under consideration comprise: Luxury Dhow Dining Cruise, Luxury Coach, 4x4 Leasing Company, MICE and Events DMC, Ticketing and Mobile Information Centres and SME Cottage Markets.

These projects will be procured via a competitive public tender and are a part of a larger pipeline of projects aimed at filling gaps in tourism.
