No, Thank you

A note of thanks to the FM sector

It's been a good ride

As someone who has never been good with goodbyes, it’s with quite some difficulty that I am putting pen to paper on what will be my final editor’s note for fmME.

Yes, dear reader: after having worked for more than a year on this magazine, it’s now time for me to move on from fmME, and I’ll be starting work at a new title very soon.

Keeping that in mind, I think it’s a rather lucky coincidence that this month’s issue of fmME contains a number of pieces that served as good reminders of all of the things that I like most about this particular industry.

For instance, the site visit I did with Imdaad at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai (page 28) had me, once again, gaping in awe at the critical role FM plays to ensure the successful operation of that world-class facility.

Similarly, in my chat with Inaya’s general manager, Nishant Ravindran (page 20), I felt reaffirmed in my belief that the FM sector in the Middle East has some very intelligent and insightful individuals working in it, whose ideas and innovations are propelling this growing industry in the right direction.

So now, as I bid adieu to fmME, I want to thank all those of you who, over the past 15 months, took time out of their busy schedules to show me the ins and outs of the region’s FM industry. Thanks to your help, I like to think that we have been able to put together some good features in the magazine, with the stories focusing on both what the industry is doing right, and also on improvements that could be brought to this sector.

I also want to especially thank all of you who participated and came out to this year’s fmME Awards in June. We had a record number of entries come in for the same, and the awards ceremony was a sold-out event as well—it couldn’t have been the success it was had it not been for your tremendous backing and support.

Going forward, I do hope that you will continue to be an active participant in all that fmME does. As for me, I’ll be sticking around these parts, and so, I certainly hope that I get to bump into at least some of you again in the future.

Once again, thank you for all of your support during my time at fmME, and I wish you—and this industry—all the very best for the future.
