Bahrain awards nine tenders in November
The Kingdom has also invited bids for seven more projects
Bahrain Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry awarded nine tenders and invited bids for seven tenders in November 2014, it was revealed today.
Planning assistant undersecretary for technical services, Eng. Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Khayyat said the awarded work is worth BD8,776,435 ($23,282,139) and the projects for which bids are have been invited is worth BD2,945,800 ($7,814,622).
The projects already awarded cover the roads and construction sectors and aim to serve citizens and residents, and support the urban boom that the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing.
They include the BD398,120 ($1,056,133) Al Azl Avenue Revamp Project, the BD191,471 ($507,934) Time Contract for the cleaning and maintenance of 2014 traffic signals, and the BD368,672 ($978,013) Muharraq Roads Revamp Project, Block 203.
The seven tenders awaiting bids include projects for the sanitary sector such as the operation and maintenance of Ma’ameer plant for two years and the maintenance of the sewage treatment network.
Construction sector projects for the maintenance and painting works at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the external lighting and forestations works In Isa Town Sports City Phase B2 and the conversion of SMC first floor into an airstrip for the Health Information Directorate Offices are also out for tender.
“The Procurement Department at the Ministry’s Cost Engineering Directorate approved 173 purchase orders covering various sectors at the Ministry at a cost of BD509,623,” said Al Khayyat.
The Technical Services Sector also approved two renewal applications applications for construction suppliers and contractors.
