At a height of 12.59m, the Caterpillar-built sand castle has set a new Guinness World Record.

A fleet of Caterpillar machines were used to build the world’s tallest sand castle.

After 15 days of painstaking construction, the structure was topped off at a Guinness World Record-breaking height of 12.59m.

Seven Cat machines, seven operators, seven sand sculptors, and 734m3 of sand and water were required to build the tower.

“Sand Castle” is the fourth short from Caterpillar’s “Built For It Trials”. Previous videos from the series show Cat machines engaging in the largest-ever game of Jenga, putting one of the manufacturer’s smartphones through its paces, and a demonstrating that they can be much more delicate than a bull in a china shop.

Two Caterpillar hydraulic excavators, a wheel loader, two mini-excavators, a vibratory soil compactor, and a track-type tractor were enlisted to pull off the record-breaking feat.

The record-breaking castle, which can be seen in the video below, was erected on a beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
