Dubai Municipality takes on US$4.8m greening projects in Hatta

Dubai Municipality (DM) has announced five new park and recreational facility projects in Hatta.

Dubai Municipality (DM) has announced five new park and recreational facility projects in Hatta, costing an estimated US$4.8 million.

The projects include the expansion of Hatta Hilltop Park, at a cost of US$2 million, and the creation of four new community landscaped areas.

Work begins at Hatta Hilltop Park in mid-July, and will see the municipality adding more greenery, seating, play areas for children and an 800-metre long jogging track.

The increase in greenery will be supported by an expansion of the current irrigation network. "The existing plants and date palms will be redistributed. Also in the plan is the setting up of a wider irrigation network on top of the mountain so as to keep the plants constantly irrigated," said Hussain Nasser Lootah, acting director general of DM.
