L&T to build new airport terminal in Duqm, Oman

New terminal to cater for up to 500,000 air passengers annually

L&T Oman has secured the contract to build a new passenger terminal at Duqm Airport in central eastern Oman.

The port town and surrounding area is under significant development by the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority whoch has overseen the construction of an enormous shipping port and drydock over recent years.

The Duqm airport project includes construction of a modern passenger terminal with a capacity of 500,000 passengers per year, a 37 metre high air traffic control tower and an air cargo terminal equipped to handle 25,000 tonnes of cargo per annum.

The contract was awarded by the Ministry of Transport & Communications, Sultanate of Oman.

L&T Oman LLC is also working on the construction of the Adam Air base assigned by the Ministry of Defense of Oman.
