CBFM will provide integrated facility management services for The Gulf Data Hub's (GDH) new data centre in Silicon Oasis, Dubai.

The package includes technical maintenance, civil and soft services, as well as management of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This is CBFM’s first data centre maintenance contract in the Middle East, and the contract if for a 12-month period.

Christophe Van Hamme, Facility Manager at GDH, explained, “Our main focus is now set on the reliability and maintainability of the facility, and in the second stage of management, the sustainability will be looked at.

"This will involve implementing green initiatives along with the client such as optimising air distribution, managing harmonics, as well as optimising chilled water distribution and associated temperatures.”

GDH’s new data centre opened in January 2014. The facility consists of two floors with 6000 m2 of data centre space, comprising up to 14,000m2 of built up area on a 65,000 m2 plot.
