Al Khodari forms JV to bid for Obhur Bridge work
Saudi contractor teams up with Waagner Biro and Italy's Condotte Dacqua to pre-qualify for work
Contractor Al Khodari has said that its has signed a letter of intent with Italian contractor Condotte Dacqua and UAE-based specialist contractor Waagner Biro to bid for the Obhur Bridge project in Jeddah.
The company said that the three firms will deliver the project jointly if awarded the work, which was tendered by Metro Jeddah Company in December.
The project, which has been years in the making, will see a bridge with eight car lanes, a two-lane route for the city's proposed rail transit system and sidewalks for foot passengers being built.
It will be built over Obhur Creek separating North and South Obhur, which is around 20 km north of the city centre, dividing the districts of South and North Obhur.
The northern side is home to a number of major, new masterplanned communities being undertaken under the city's own development plan and by private investors.
