It has bought a 118,400ft2 plot in the zone's KP5 district and is building a manufacturing facility that is due to complete by the end of the current quarter, with operations set to begin in May.

The company already has four logistics points and 18 branches, but will use the manufacturing base to create aluminium ceilings, ceiling suspension grids and metal profiles for the interior finishing market.

Gemini's managing director, KP Ganesh Babu, said: “We have been part of the Middle East construction industry since 1995. The move to Khalifa Industrial Zone will strengthen our business offerings while boosting our services and competitiveness, especially with regards to regional and international markets.

"The facility in Khalifa Industrial Zone is expected to show an annual increase between 12-15% and offers an opportunity to widen our product range."

Gemini curently offers a range of building materials including drywall, ceilings and decoration products for use in residential buildings, hotels, hospitals and malls.
