Laser line-up expands

Trimble has added three portable laser tools to its line of products – the Spectra Precision Laser LG20 Crossbeam Generator, Spectra Precision Laser HR250 Laser Receiver, and the Spectra Precision Laser HD50 Handheld Distance Meter.

According to the company, these products will set the industry standard in accuracy and payback for interior work and general construction.

The self-levelling Spectra Precision Laser LG20 Crossbeam Generator is a one-person tool designed for a variety of interior and exterior applications.

Universal accessories provide fast, accurate set-up and eliminate levelling with bubble vials.

It is suitable for general contractors, framers, cabinet installers, remodellers, drywallers, acoustical ceiling installers, deck installers, and small level/plumb contractors.

The LG20 can withstand a drop onto concrete from a height of 1m.

The laser diode emits a sharp beam, which can be seen up to 30m away, and it operates up to 75m with the HR250 Receiver.

It has been developed to operate in both horizontal and vertical modes.

Developed for use with the LG20, the optional Spectra Precision Laser HR250 Laser Receiver has been designed for long-range interior and exterior applications.

It features simultaneous front LEDs with a green ‘on-grade’ indicator, which can be seen inside or outside, and over long distances.

Marking notches on both sides allow alignments and elevations to be marked, and the strong composite housing offers superior protection against damage if it is dropped.

The receiver allows one person to read elevation and alignment changes across the work area.

The Spectra Precision Laser HD50 Handheld Distance Meter is designed to give speciality contractors a high-accuracy, one-person distance portable tool to measure remote and difficult-to-reach places.

Accurate to ±1.5mm at 50m, the HD50 is more accurate than conventional tapes and allows contractors to avoid costly mistakes and reduce expensive rework, according to Trimble.

A visible laser dot allows contractors to measure over water, high altitudes or factory interiors, for example.

The Spectra Precision Laser LG20 Crossbeam Generator and HR250 Laser Receiver are available now through Trimble’s Construction Division dealer network.

The Spectra Precision Laser HD50 Handheld Distance Meter is expected to be available in early 2007.
