COMMENT, Facilities Management

As many of you know, Becca Wilson, long-time editor of facilities management Middle East has moved on to pursue another opportunity.

While she remains in Dubai, she is no longer a part of the very popular title that she helped launch. Within the ITP walls, it is certainly the end of an era. I wish her the best of luck in her endeavours and I hope to drive the magazine with the same editorial integrity she brought to it.

While it is certainly the end of something, it is also a time for new beginnings. As the current editor of Middle East Architect, I will also be wearing the hat of fmME editor until a suitable replacement is found for Ms. Wilson. In an effort to better connect with the new community to whom I will be speaking and representing in the magazine, I'm asking for the input of my new readership.

In the coming months, you may notice some changes to the magazine. Rest assured, I'm not looking to alienate our readers, but I think it's an appropriate time to bring the look of fmME more in line with its fellow Design Group titles, i.e. Middle East Architect, Commercial Interior Design and Commercial Outdoor Design.

Since we're changing the look of the magazine, it is only fair that we allow our readers to contribute to the overhaul as well. To that end, I'm asking you to get in touch with me. Contact me if there are certain subjects you'd like to see covered or areas you feel have been neglected. Tell me about new events happening in the region. Direct me toward particularly newsworthy items. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Moreover, due to the tremendous success of the first annual fmME Awards in June, the message is loud and clear that FM events are both popular and entertaining for everyone involved. Due to this, the FM sales team will be planning more FM-related events. Again, please feel free to recommend ideas or venues to me at

One of Ms. Wilson's strongest qualities as the editor of fmME was her ability to connect with her readers; to create a community. I sincerely hope that I'll be able to continue that tradition into the future. I thank you in advance for your help in this effort.

Jeff Roberts is the editor of Middle East Architect.
