Residents still displaced by the Torch Tower fire could get 20 nights free in a luxury Dubai hotel.

A luxury hotel company has offered residents affected by last week’s fire at Dubai’s The Torch tower a free 20-night stay at one of its resorts.

Jannah Hotels and Resorts, which operates hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, said it wants to support residents that have been unable to return to their homes since the fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday, February 21.

The building’s insurer reported last week that 101 of the 676 apartments in The Torch remained inaccessible to residents, but has issued no update since.

Jannah Hotels and Resorts will offer 20-days for free in 10 hotel suites to affected residents.

The company’s chief executive Nehme Imad Darwiche said: “We owe it to each other to take care of our fellow citizens and I hope that others will follow our path. Ten studios is what we can do, I wish we could do more.”

The Torch residents have been asked to emailreservations.jpdm@jannah.ae if they are interested in taking up the offer.

Meanwhile, investigations are being conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
