First Genie SX-180 lands in the Saudi Arabia
Zoom Al Andalus Trading has taken delivery of the Kingdom’s first Genie SX-180 telescopic boom lift
Genie has delivered its first SX-180 to Saudi Arabia.
The giant telescopic boom was purchased by KSA-based rental firm, Zoom Al Andalus Trading.
The machine is the first of its kind to be delivered to the Kingdom, and is the latest in a string of SX-180 models to arrive in the Middle East.
“In Saudi Arabia, there has been great anticipation throughout the industry about the arrival of this new ‘super boom’ model, and our customers are going to really value its potential out in the field,” said Farid Jaber, company consultant for Zoom Al Andalus.
“For us, one of its strongest benefits is its ability to be driven at full height, at a steady 0.2 mph. Without needing to retract and redeploy the boom each time it moves provides an efficiency that will save operators a lot of time. We are extremely excited to receive this new industry-leading super boom, and we are very proud to be the first [customer] in Saudi Arabia to own one,” he commented.
With a maximum working height of almost 57m, the SX-180 is the largest self-propelled boom in the Genie line-up. Zoom Al Andalus points out that the long-reach aerial work platform (AWP) is ideal for applications such as the maintenance of steel structures and power plants.
“When we designed the Genie SX-180 super boom lift, we wanted to provide our customers with a solution capable of meeting the needs of end users operating in today’s increasingly challenging industrial, construction, and maintenance sectors, in addition to being rapidly profitable to our rental customers,” explained Carlo Forini, director of business development and product management at Genie’s parent company, Terex AWP EMEAR.
“The result is a machine that combines impressive capabilities with unique design features that offer the versatility our customers need. This lift handles a wide range of extreme access and high-precision tasks that will rapidly benefit the profitability and growth of our customers’ respective businesses,” he said.
Jaber added: “[The Genie SX-180] has many outstanding features that really impressed us. It’s going to be a great addition to our fleet.”
