CWO Awards: SSH wins Consultant of the Year

The firm was praised by judges for its professionalism in designing and supervising great projects like Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre

SSH was named Consultant of the Year at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2015 held at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat on Monday.

Alistair Young, associate director - operations, said he was delighted the the Kuwait-headquartered consultant had landed the prize in what was an extremely tight category.

The firm was praised by judges for its professionalism in designing and supervising great projects like Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

Young said: "Oman is a great place to be. This awards ceremony is good for the industry. And I think it shows a real commitment to the country which I think it what's needed. I think when you have this quality of projects and these quality of people that we have spoken about, it bodes well for the future."

He said SSH has tendered for design and supervision contract on the Ras Al Hadd development in Ash Sharqiyah district.

The Construction Week Oman Awards 2015 were judged by an independent panel of seven judges, made up of a range of industry experts. If a judge’s company had entered a category then they didn’t evaluate that category.

A total of 13 categories were open for nomination plus a Lifetime Achievement award picked by Construction Week’s editorial team
