DSI snares US $34 mn in MEP jobs

UAE-based Drake and Scull International (DSI), has picked up two MEP contracts worth a combined US $34 million (AED125 million) for the Yas Island Rotana Resort and Centro by Rotana. Aldar Properties is the client.

UAE-based Drake and Scull International (DSI), has picked up two MEP contracts worth a combined US $34 million (AED125 million) for the Yas Island Rotana Resort and Centro by Rotana. Aldar Properties is the client.

The project is expected to be completed by June, 2009.

DSI will supply, install, test and commission the complete air ventilation and air conditioning works as well as power distribution, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems.

The contractor will also supply and install the internal chilled water supply return system, domestic water storage tanks, domestic water filtering and cooling systems, and hot and cold water distribution system.

The two hotels are located on Aldar's $40 billion Yas Island development.

The Yas Island Rotana Resort is expected to be completed by July 2009.

DSI installs the essential core systems of buildings in the MEP and civil contracting sector.

Projects that the company has been involved with include Shangri-La Abu Dhabi Hotel, Park Place Tower, Indigo Tower, Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre, Zayed University Campus, Dubai Police Headquarters, the JBR District cooling plant and the Dubai Festival City District cooling scheme.
