NEB to handle Torch Tower repairs and refit

National Engineering Bureau has been appointed to manage the repairs and act as consultant engineers to oversee the refit

The National Engineering Bureau has been appointed to manage the repairs on Dubai’s fire-ravaged Torch Tower
Developer Select Group said the company will act as consultant engineers to oversee its refit.

The firm’s owner Jamil Jadallah said: "NEB - being one of the largest engineering consultants in the region - would normally not take on this type of work. However, we have agreed to assist the owners and residents leading to restoring this iconic building in the shortest possible time.”

All companies are working closely with the emirate’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency to get the external façade and 79 damaged units repaired.

The Torch’s eight lifts were functioning as normal within days of the incident, while a full and complete assessment of fire-fighting systems has already been concluded.

Quotes for debris removal from inside apartments have been received and are currently being processed, while suppliers are also putting together proposals for work within apartments that were not directly affected by the fire.
