Emaar opens Uptown Cairo Hotel

Dubai-based developer, Emaar, is building a five star luxury hotel in Egypt called The Address, Uptown Cairo.

It will be developed by Emaar Hospitality Group's premium hotel brand, The Address Hotels and Resorts.

The hotel is scheduled to open in 2011.

Emaar Hospitality Group CEO, Marc Dardenne, said: "Uptown Cairo is a master-planned community located in the Mokattam Hills and The Address, Uptown Cairo will offer a distinctive hotel experience for guests with our focus on service and benefits."

The US $2.1 billion (AED7.7 billion) Uptown Cairo development highlights an inimitable living experience that meets the demanding requirements of Egypt's upwardly mobile population. Uptown Cairo is located on 10 million m2 within Mokattam Hills.

Master-planned by WATG, Uptown Cairo includes several residential villages, a business park, resorts, spa, sports and leisure facilities, a sprawling shopping mall and a golf course. The development is easily accessible from Maadi, Heliopolis, Nasr City and Central Cairo.

With total assets of development value US $1 billion (AED3.67 billion), Emaar Hospitality Group owns and manages a portfolio of hospitality assets such as hotels, serviced residences, golf resorts, recreation clubs, and Marinas.
