Transguard wins award at CIPS Middle East 2015
The Dubai-based group received the Best Supplier Relationship Management Award
Transguard Group, a total facilities management company, received the Best Supplier Relationship Management Award at the annual Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Middle East Awards 2015.
The highly sought award is given to companies that display both success and ingenuity through their respective supplier-purchaser relationships. Commenting on the award, John Nolan, managing director, Transguard, said: "We take our supplier relationships extremely seriously and actively seek to establish long term partnerships that enable us to implement best practice solutions to drive multiple efficiencies for both parties.
"Our working relationship with Dream Uniforms is a fantastic example of how this all comes together."
The FM company’s nomination highlighted its ongoing partnership with employee work-wear provider Dream Uniforms. As per the award criteria, both companies were tasked to demonstrate the tangible benefits brought upon their collaboration. Additional marks were given to both companies for displaying ground-breaking practices coupled with product development.
"The winning combination of product rationalisation and range reduction was achieved through the application of vendor managed inventory, just-in-time availability, the use of uniform catalogues and end user self-service ordering," explained Nolan.
He added: "This eliminated many manual processes for both parties and because Dream Uniforms actively manage our stocks from their premises, the need for our self-storage facilities virtually diminished."
