Macro's Bill Heath on the 2015 fmME Awards
In addition to participating as a silver sponsor for this year’s edition of the annual event, Mace Macro International were also shortlisted in four categories
Hosted at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City on 3 June, 2015, the eighth annual fmME Awards brought together the region’s FM community to once again celebrate the progress of the industry.
While the reactions from the event’s 300 guests have largely been positive, there is always room for improvement. As the drawing board for next year’s iteration begins to fill, fmME reaches out to Bill Heath, managing director at Mace Macro International for his feedback.
“The awards event itself was good, with regards to the venue, food, people, award recognitions and atmosphere,” shares Heath. “Perhaps a bit more could be made of the evening with regards to entertainment and/or an inspiring keynote speaker.”
As one of eight judges of this year’s edition of the awards, Heath was particularly impressed with Farnek’s biogas project in Nepal. He praised the winning project of the CSR Initiative of the Year award calling it, “a very inspiring initiative and one that the FM community should take note of.”
Heath went on to share his viewpoint on the nominations, stating that submission should comprise less of, “marketing material and greater evidence to support some of the comments made. It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality of information.”
Finally, the managing director shares some advice for future nominations.
“Follow the guidelines, answer the specific questions, do not add unnecessary material and be prepared to answers queries relating to your submission,” shares Heath.
