Indian group in Qatar to build affordable homes
Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre's (KMCC) Industrial announced it will construct five homes in one year under the project's first phase
Indian not-for-profit organisation Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre's (KMCC) Industrial Area Branch announced it will construct homes for Keraliite expats in Qatar.
The initiative is part of Shihab Thangal Baithurahma programme launched by the Muslim League Central Committee in Kerala, local daily The Peninsula reported.
"KMCC has realised that the dream of owning a home still remains a dream after years of struggle," K Mohammed Isa, vice chairman of KMCC's organising committee said.
"A lot of people from the Keralite community struggle to meet daily demands of life and building a house is often a dream. There are expatriates who start to build homes but are unable to complete them due to financial or personal constraints while others live in rented apartments."
In the first phase, the branch will build five homes in one year under the title 'Pravasi Baithurahma'.
"Anyone who feels the suffering is free to apply for project," Isa said, adding the deadline for applications is 1 August, 2015.
