A&O Technology, an international manufacturer and distributor of lighting technology for architectural and entertainment applications, recently upgraded the strobe lighting system of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, UAE.

The entirety of the strobe lighting system was replaced by A&O Technology’s team of climbers, which utilised rope access to rappel down the exoskeleton of the 321m tall structure.

In addition to an extended service life, the pure-white LED-based strobe lights boast significantly lower maintenance costs and energy consumption.

Furthermore, the upgraded system, which was integrated separately to the existing light system, boasts energy savings of up to 85%.

The strobes are controlled via DMX and can be programmed in advance to accommodate any lighting shows on the horizon.

The LED-based strobes can be programmed to perform lengthy hyper flash sequences and has solved the traditional problem of blackouts from extended use.
