Dubai's Al Habtoor City will feature a tennis academy, and UAE's first indoor, fully air-conditioned tennis court, it has been reported.

The hotel component of Al Habtoor City is due for opening this year.

The tennis academy will facilitate guests of any of the three Starwood hotels on the complex, namely St Regis Dubai, W Dubai Al Habtoor City, and Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City, as well as the residents of the towers, and members of the sports facility, Arabian Business reported.

“The indoor tennis pavilion will allow tennis enthusiasts to play all-year-round no matter what the weather," Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, said in a statement.

"This is very unique to Dubai.

"From all the tennis courts there are lovely views of the St Regis Gardens. You won’t get this anywhere else."

Natural lighting will be used for the outdoor tennis courts.
