Revealed: Six Construct to bid for Royal Atlantis

Construction firm Six Construct is set to bid for the $1.4bn Royal Atlantis Resort in Palm Jumeirah, according to company executive.

Managing director of the company, Pierre Sironval, said that the Middle Eastern arm of the Belgian Besix Group will submit their bid next week for the project.

“We will submit the bid next week for Dubai’s second Atlantis to be built on the Palm island in Dubai,” said Sironval.

The 800-room resort managed by Kerzner International will have 46 storeys on the waterfront with a pool 90 metres above the ground on the crescent of the Palm near the existing Atlantis the Palm Resort.

The project will also include 250 luxury residences and retail offerings and is scheduled for completion by 2017.

Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) unveiled plans for what is termed as ‘Dubai’s second Atlantis’ in September last year, in the presence of H H Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with a number of other development projects.
