Morgan takes Orissa mills

Morgan Construction Company has been awarded a contract to build two mills for Jindal Steel and Power in Orissa.

Morgan Construction Company has been awarded a contract to build two mills for Jindal Steel and Power in Orissa.

In addition to providing mechanical and auxiliary equipment, Morgan will be responsible for the complete automation of both mills.

The rod mill will be one of the region's largest capacity single-strand mills and will produce 5.2 to 22mm wire rods with a capacity of 600,000 tonnes on completion in 2008.

The bar mill, projected to be commissioned in March 2009, will produce plain bars, rebar, round corner squares (RCS) and angles, with a capacity of one million tonnes.
