NEWS, PMV

All twelve of Bobcat's telehandler models have been redrawn from the ground up, after a 24 month research programme.

Powered by Tier III diesel engines, the new line-up covers maximum lifting heights from 5.2 to 17.4 metres.

The firm's telescopic handlers are designed on common platforms, with the main components and control points situated in the same place on every model to simplify maintenance operations.

Latest advances on the range include a new drive controller which has been changed to enhance the overall electronic quality. The throttle cable design has also been modified and a new rear boom design eliminates any hose interference. Other modifications comprise changes to the hydraulic couplers on the booms as well as a reduction in noise.

The newcomers can be distinguished from previous versions by a new colour scheme. As well as being more aesthetically appealing, the white on the boom and orange used for the counterweight at the rear of the machines in the new colour scheme aligns them with the designs used on the other products in the range There will also be "50th year" edition, featuring an additional decal.

Meanwhile, Caterpillar has also launched a new line of telehanders. added three new telehandlers to its Europe, Africa and Middle East product offering - the TH406, TH407 and TH414. All three will have the same lift capacity of 3,700kg and be powered by the same engines, but the choice will be between varying lift heights and forward reach.
