Toshiba deploys Flowcrete's Anti-Static flooring
Over 4,000m2 of the anti-static floor finish will be installed over a two-month period, beginning in September 2015
The Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, a global provider of medical diagnostic imaging systems has announced the installation of Flowcrete’s Flowshield ESD conductive flooring.
Deployed at the Toshiba Medical System’s diagnostic imaging systems manufacturing base in Penang, Malaysia, the resin flooring specialist’s anti-static range will aid in achieving surface regularity and ensuring consistent accurate readings from onsite equipment.
Over 4,000m2 of the anti-static floor finish will be installed over a two-month period, beginning in September 2015. As the first ever diagnostic imaging systems manufacturing base in Malaysia, Toshiba’s facility will specialise in the development of x-ray equipment for medical facilities.
Part of Flowcrete Asia’s Anti-static range, the ESD conductive systems boasts hard wearing resiliency, as well as a self-smoothing epoxy resin floor finish.
Popular amongst electrical manufacturers, the anti-static flooring is typically deployed across dry processing areas, which expects medium to heavy foot traffic, as well as the utilisation of trolley and pallet truck traffic. Furthermore, the flooring’s hardwearing is designed to be highly chemical and abrasion resistant.
Flowshield ESD Conductive is certified under a number of industry standards including BS2050, ASTM F150 Conductive, IEC 61340-4-1 and IEC 61340-4-5. To date, the flooring material has commonly used within laboratories, clean rooms and equipment testing areas. It has seen use in electronic, aerospace, automotive, printing and pharmaceutical plants.
