Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) has announced that it has secured two projects in Abu Dhabi and Kuwait for a combined value of AED 96.1m ($26.1m).

The firm will undertake the supply, installation, commissioning and testing of the MEP systems on both projects.

The first project award worth AED55.5m ($15.1m) is for an upcoming residential project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. DSE’s turnkey MEP work for the upscale waterfront development includes engineering detailing, procuring, installation, testing, commissioning, hand over, and maintenance of MEP systems; and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection, building management, and sewerage, storm water and irrigation systems.

Under the terms of the second project award worth AED40.5m ($11m), DSE will undertake MEP works to deliver a new retail development in Kuwait’s capital.

The scope of DSE’s work includes supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection systems. Work on both projects is expected to commence soon with a scheduled 2017 handover.

Ahmad Al Naser, managing director of Drake & Scull Engineering, said: “DSI continues to capitalize on its positive momentum in 2015 with the two project awards worth a combined AED 96.1m ($26.1m) in value.

"The AED55.5m ( ) Abu Dhabi residential development is a reputable project and reinforces our historic association with high-end residential developments in the UAE. It is an important win for us as it will be an exciting addition to Abu Dhabi’s skyline, which remains one of our largest markets where we are currently working on many iconic key projects.

"We are pleased to continue our project winning streak in Kuwait which is a high potential market driven largely by new projects from the private sector and an increase in demand for residential, commercial and retail units. DSE has consolidated its position as Kuwait’s leading engineering firm across multiple sectors and primarily the education, healthcare and commercial sectors. The AED 40.5 Million high end retail shopping mall is an exciting retail project that will not only become a major landmark in Kuwait’s vibrant skyline but will also deliver an unparalleled experience for both retailers and consumers.”
