L&T awarded EPC contract for 220kV substation

The Indian engineering and construction firm revealed the Middle East contract from a "reputed customer" is part of its total $209.7m September 2015 contract wins

Indian engineering and construction firm, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), announced on 30 September, 2015, that it has been awarded a contract in the Middle East "from a reputed customer". 

L&T won an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 220kV substation in the region. 

The firm did not reveal the contract's value or client. 

L&T confirmed the total value of its power transmission and distribution business contracts won in September 2015 amounts to $209.7m (INR13.7bn). 

According to Indian daily The Economic Times, the company has also won orders for the construction of substations in Africa.
