ACES Dubai has been awarded the geotechnical investigation for the prestigious $136m (AED449m) Museum of the Future project.
The museum, located next to Dubai's Emirates Towers and the Dubai International Financial Centre, is the first of its kind and aims to actively produce innovative ideas and futuristic inventions.
The steel cladded ovular building, which is scheduled to open in 2017, will feature the Arabic poetry of Dubai Ruler and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on its exterior.
The scope of the geotechnical investigation includes drilling boreholes with depths ranging from 40m to 80m, performing cone pentration tests (CPTs), excavating trial pits, installing piezometers and conducting packer permeability and pressuremeter tests.
Additionally, ACES will perform geophysical logging, including multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW), down-hole and cross-hole tests.
