Komatsu Europe has released Stage IIIB conversion kits customised for the adaptation of pre-owned European machines to the high sulphur content of fuel in less-regulated markets like the Middle East.

The kits are allow for machines originally sold in Europe with Stage IIIB engines to be re-distributed to any countries where the ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) required for higher emissions control systems is not available.

The conversion deregulates the machinery, meaning it cannot be used in highly regulated markets, while the modification process is intended to be carried out only by authorised Komatsu dealers.

“Innovative design, quality manufacturing and our care programme mean that Komatsu pre-owned products are in demand across the world,” explained Jim Venerus, deputy GM of product marketing at Komatsu Europe.

“The approved conversion process allows Komatsu dealers to provide a quick and easy solution to our customers without compromising product performance.”
