Fortune 500 SAIC Motor Co to debut at Dubai show
Chinese auto giant heads to Dubai International Motor Show to deliver MG and Maxus brands
SAIC Motor Corporation, one of China’s largest automotive manufacturers, will be making its Middle East debut at Dubai International Motor Show this November to showcase its MG and Maxus brands.
With revenues of $102bn in 2014, SAIC Motor reached the 60th position in this year’s Fortune Global 500 list. Both the MG and Maxus l brands have are from Europe and have a long history.
Morris Garages (MG), was founded in the UK in 1924, and its famous cabriolet series has been sought after by British Prime Ministers and even the royal family.
MAXUS is an commercial vehicle brand that stretches back as far as 1896, when it was founded in Birmingham, UK. Previously known as LDV, SAIC Motor acquired LDV’s full range of intellectual property rights and technology in 2009.
As a company, SAIC Motor’s is heavily invested in both the manufacturing business, but also services including logistics, vehicle telematics, second-hand vehicle sales and auto finance services.
In 2015, SAIC Motor’s vehicle sales hit 2.86 million units.
