Commvault and Pacific Controls form alliance

The strategic alliance will see both companies collaborating to offer managed data services across the GCC market.

Pacific Controls, a co-location and cloud service provider, has announced a strategic alliance with Commvault, a data and information management service company.

The two firms will jointly offer GCC-based organisations a number of managed data services including hosting and data protection.

As per the partnership, Commvault will provide data protection and management services for customers currently utilising Pacific Controls Cloud Services (PCCS).

The enterprise platform is based on a cloud infrastructure that offers customers access the firm’s range of managed services via a self-service portal.

The move aims to capitalise on a growing trend of organisations shifting towards IT-as-a-service model, which in turn demands a high level of data protection across in both the physical and virtual states.

Dilip Rahulan, executive chairman & CEO, Pacific Controls said: “We selected Commvault as our partner to offer back up services to our overall co-located managed data services offering, after closely looking at all the options available.”

He added: “Commvault software satisfies our requirements and provides the capabilities of multiple point products we were evaluating within a single solution—providing a great degree of flexibility for our clients, while resulting in less complexity and costs for our internal organisations.”

Also commenting on the strategic alliance, Bassam Hemdan, area VP MESAT, Commvault, shared: “Commvault software provides the data protection, recoverability and pay-as-you-go licensing options PCCS requires to deliver high availability and access to business-critical applications that meet customer service level requirements.”
