Oman property transactions top $8.3bn in September

The statistics showed that 181,607 title deeds were issued by the end of September with a 6.4% increase compared to the figures recorded during the same period of 2014

The total traded value of the real estate activity in Oman reached $8.3bn (OMR3.2bn) by the end of September 2015, a 42% hike compared to the value recorded during 2014.

The fees collected from all the legal transactions reached $97.6bn (OMR37.6m) with a 18.6% increase. The traded value of selling contracts also increased with 1.3% to record $24.4bn (OMR9.4bn), according to the statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The number of selling contracts decreased with 4.5% to record 60,490 contracts, compared to 63,317 contracts during the same period of 2014.

The traded value of mortgage contracts increased with 70.5% to record $5.7bn (OMR2.2bn), compared to $3.3bn (OMR1.3bn) recorded during the same period of 2014.

The number of mortgage contracts increased with 13.4% to record 16,887 contracts, compared to 14,886 contracts during the same period of 2014.

The traded value of exchange contracts recorded $44.1m (OMR17m) till the end of September with a significant hike of 95.4% compared to the value recorded during the same period of 2014, which logged $22.5bn (OMR8.7m).

The number of exchange contracts also recorded an increase of 13.3% to reach 1,029 contracts by the end of September, compared to 908 contracts recorded during the same period of 2014.

The statistics showed also that 181,607 title deeds were issued by the end of September with a 6.4% increase compared to the figures recorded during the same period of 2014, which reached 170,688 title deeds.

The number of title deeds issued for the GCC countries' nationals witnessed a 26% decrease by the end of September to reach 1,817 title deeds compared to 2,457 title deeds recorded during the same period of 2014.
