Westin Doha's opening has been delayed to 2016.

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa will not welcome its first guests until “early 2016” after a further postponement of the opening date.

All the major building work on the 365-room hotel was completed in December 2014, but the licensing and completion certification process delayed the original targeted opening date of April 2015 until September, then October and November.

“The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa opening has been temporary postponed and this decision has been taken to ensure our impeccable customer service and unrivalled and tailored wellbeing and lifestyle experience for all guests is right from the very beginning," a statement from the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide brand read.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our guests in early 2016.”

In an interview with Hotelier Middle East in September, general manager Gianrico Esposito said: “I’ve been here 16 months. After a while, you just want to see guests and customers again.”
