Nakheel confirms 550-room resort for Deira Islands

The Dubai-based developer will partner with Thailand's Centara Hotels and Resorts to construct the beachfront resort, which will also feature a water park

Dubai-based developer Nakheel announced it will partner will Thailand-based Centara Hotels and Resorts to construct a 550-room resort at its Deira Islands development. 

The beachfront resort will comprise a water park, and will be Centara's first development in the UAE. 

This is Nakheel's third joint venture for hotels at Deira Islands announced in the year. 

Nakheel is working on a 750-room resort with Spain's RIU Hotels and Resorts, and a 500-room Avani resort with Thailand's Minor Hotel Group. 

According to Arabian Business, the developer now has 1,800 rooms in the pipeline at Deira Islands through international partnerships. 

Centara's portfolio includes up to 14,000 rooms across 67 hotels and resorts under six brands across Asia, Indian Ocean, Africa and the Middle East.
