UAE: Dubai Healthcare City enters JV with Nshama
The agreement between Dubai Healthcare City Authority and Nshama will deliver a community featuring premium apartments, serviced residences, hotels and retail and dining facilities
Dubai Healthcare City Authority has entered a joint venture with Nshama to establish a mixed-use development in Dubai Healthcare City's Phase 2 wellness expansion project.
The agreement will deliver an integrated community, named Al Fursan, featuring premium apartments, serviced residences, 4- and 5-star hotels and various retail and leisure facilities.
Located at Al Jadaf Dubai, the project will be spread over approximately 2,900,000 sq of Dubai Healthcare City's Phase 2 expansion project.
The signing was attended by Her Excellency Dr Raja Al Gurg, vice-chairperson and executive director of Dubai Healthcare City Authority and Fred Durie, chief executive officer, Nshama - as well as other senior officials.
"Our partnership is a milestone to support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed in establishing the emirate as a global medical tourism hub, and developing Dubai's key sectors of health, retail and hospitality," Dr Al Gurg said.
She added: "The project will cater to the growing demand for living choices from healthcare specialists who relocate to the emirate and from medical tourists."
The first phase of planning will promote activity and interaction on a community level, and the required infrastructure to ensure environmental prudence and social responsibility.
Details on the progress will be announced in the future.
"The JV is a key addition to our development portfolio. The project will be an interconnected community with walkways linking different components, offering a refreshing creek-side ambience," Durie concluded.
