MEP Awards 2015: Mark Farley named PM of the Year

Mark Farley of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff was named Project Manager of the Year at the 2015 MEP Middle East Awards held on Wednesday 18 November at the Park Hyatt in Dubai.

Farley was praised for being a highly motivated individual who has the drive to bring large multi-discipline teams together on complex projects to deliver for clients.

He was also described as one judge as being very approachable to his fellow colleagues and an early adopter of new technology in the workplace.

Farely, deputy head of integrated project delivery / property and buildings, said: "I’m chuffed to bits. It’s a bit of reward for the hard work. To be honest, it’s a bit of a team effort – so you’re only as good as the people you work with. I like to think I provide quite a lot of good direction and delivery good projects for clients and the business.

“What excites me about next year is continuing to improve. What I try and to every project, every day really is try to improve our people and improve what we do for clients.”

Highly commended was Arabian MEP’s S. Arumugame Rajesh for his problem solving and track record of delivering projects on time.

The other shortlisted finalists were: Roy Wicks (Alemco), Jonathan Mitchell (Black & White Engineering), and V.C Sukesh (Elemec Electromechanical Contracting).

An independent panel of judges six judges (with MEP Middle East having the deciding vote in the case of a tie) made up of industry professionals from across the GCC and throughout the construction sector came up with the final decision in each of the 15 categories.
