MEP Awards 2015: Anand Krishnan picks up prize

Anand Krishnan of Atkins was crowned Electrical Engineer of the Year at the 2015 MEP Middle East Awards held on Wednesday 18 November at the Park Hyatt in Dubai.

In a keenly-contested category, Krishnan was described as having vast experiences in the design of HV, LV, and ELV systems for a wide ranges of projects.

Judges noted that he has consistently used his skills, experience and innovative ideas to deliver better solutions for clients, and is a person who is capable of getting authority approvals in a short-term period.

Krishnan, principle building services engineer Middle East, said: “I am very excited to receive this award and feel that it reflects all the hard work I have done over the years. It is very pleasing to get such recognition. I look after the whole team so I have to confront the challenges we come across. The work offers me so much scope as all projects are different.”

Keith Fitzpatrick of Godwin Austen Johnson was highly commended for his excellent practical background supported by top notch academic qualifications.

The other shortlisted finalists were: Sayed Gohary (KEO International Consultants), Natanam Kannan (KEO International Consultants), Keith Fitzpatrick (Godwin Austen Johnson), and Eamonn Burkett (Arcadis), Wissam Yakob (Arcadis), and Shaun O'Mahoney (Black & White Engineering).

An independent panel of judges six judges (with MEP Middle East having the deciding vote in the case of a tie) made up of industry professionals from across the GCC and throughout the construction sector came up with the final decision in each of the 15 categories.
