Oman real estate activities hit $8.8bn in Oct 2015

The total traded value of the real estate activity in Oman hit $8.8bn (OMR3.4bn) by the end of last October, a 40.7% rise compared to the value recorded during the same period in 2014.

The statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the traded value of selling contracts also increased with 2.3% to record $(OMR1bn). Also the number of selling contracts decreased with 2.8% to record 66,540 contracts, compared to 68,426 contracts during the same period of 2014.

The traded value of mortgage contracts increased with 67.4 % to record $5.9bn (OMR2.3bn), compared to $3.6bn (OMR1.4bn) recorded during the same period of 2014.

The traded value of exchange contracts recorded $45.7bn (OMR17.6m) till the end of last October with a significant hike of 91.3% compared to the value recorded during the same period of 2014, which logged $23.9m (OMR9.2m).

The number of exchange contracts also recorded an increase of 17.8 % to reach 1,133 contracts by the end of last October, compared to 962 contracts recorded during the same period of 2014.

The statistics showed also that 200.021 title deeds were issued by the end of last October with a 7.8% increase compared to the figures recorded during the same period of 2014, which reached 185.573 title deeds.

The number of title deeds issued for the GCC countries' nationals witnessed a 26.7% decrease by the end of last October to reach 1,959 title deeds compared to 2,672 title deeds recorded during the same period of 2014.
