Asia and Africa are emerging as notable markets for steel and aluminium exports from the UAE.

Rosy Salameh, assistant CEO at the UAE-based Tiger Profiles and Insulation, told Construction Week about her firm's strategy in the region.

"The UAE has always been a very competitive market, and its products do very well around the world," Salameh said, speaking at the sidelines of The Big 5 2015.

"Asia and Africa are especially becoming bigger markets, as is the wider Middle East."

Tiger Profiles launched a newly-prepared line of aluminium cladding for the market at the exhibition in Dubai.

"This is our eighth year at The Big 5, and we are looking forward to meeting our clients here."

When prodded about her expectations from the market in 2016, Salameh said: "I hope for liquidity to improve in the market.

"It [the industry] has gone to such lows below that now there is only one way forward," she optimistically added.
