DSE secures $36m project wins in Dubai & Abu Dhabi

The contract will see DSE deliver mechanical & lighting works for a mixed-use residential and commercial tower in Abu Dhabi and two district cooling plants in Dubai

Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) has been awarded a $35.6m (AED131m) contract to deliver mechanical and lighting works for a mixed-use residential and commercial tower in Abu Dhabi and two district cooling plants in Dubai.

The contract win raises DSE's total project awards to $653m (AED2.4bn) year-to-date. 

DSE, a subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI)m, will supply and install the heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC), building management, fire fighting, water supply, drainage systems and lighting fixtures for the mixed-use tower in Abu Dhabi.

Wokr on the project is already underway, with a handover date scheduled for 2018.

Meanwhile, DSE will supply, install, test and commission the mechanical, fire suppression, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and electrical services of the two plants' water cooled chillers, cooling towers and building management system in Dubai.

The district  cooling plants have been designed to offer a combined 6,750 tonnes of refrigeration. 

DSE's work will commence in January 2016 - with a handover scheduled for Q4 2016.

"The two projects will be a vital additon to our current projects backlog which stood at $3.3bn (AED12.35bn) as of September 30, 2015.
