Construction Week talks to Raymond George, managing director of Soprema Middle East, about the roofing and waterproofing company's operations in 2015.
How has business been for Soprema in 2015?
We have witnessed a remarkable growth of over 50% in business during 2015 pursuant to offering a vast array of innovative and value engineering solutions allowing for peace of mind in design and application.
Globally too, the group recorded above targets growth in the overall consolidated turnover and achieved several world class recognitions.
Which GCC projects has Soprema supported during the past 12 months?
We supported a number of multi billion dollars projects in the GCC region in 2015. This includes the Saadiyaat Island Resort Development and Al Maryah Central in Abu Dhabi, UAE, The Central Bank of Oman in Muscat, Oman, The Hermes Development in Lusail, Qatar along with several Asghal projects in Doha, besides hotel projects and desalination plants in Basra, Iraq.
How do you and your colleagues expect demand to develop during the coming year?
We are expecting noteworthy development during the coming year.
We have been nominated and approved for a number of major projects that are due to start during 2016.
Therefore we anticipate the curve of demand to continue to incline.
